But for Hollow Earth we\'d do anything. So with a little help, we whipped up some pancakes, bacon, and mimosas and played!

Special Thanks To: Hollow Earth Radio, Colin J. We were all excited to show off Bara and her sweet tuba...unfortunately, things got off to a pretty rough start. Somewhere between Bart's house and The Comet the tuba was damaged. To make matters worse, we didn't find out until just before we were supposed to go on. So while Bara, Kopur and Rich stayed back-stage to figure out what was wrong with it...Bart and Katie tried their best to pretend like we had always meant to have a few solo songs in the beginning...maybe we pulled it off? Anyhow, we were so thankful that so many people made it out and although the night lacked the tuba debut we had all hoped for, the night ended up pretty great.

Special Thanks To: Spencer Choi, The Comet Tavern, KEXP 90.3 FM (Kevin Cole), FensePost",false);

But we made it! Luckily, a few of our old friends, Chris & Shannon Ferns were in town for a wedding and we had the opportunity to catch up with them a bit. After the show, our AMAZING host, Michele, took us out in Spokane..to our favorite Burrito Restaurant/Cocktail Bar Combo: Neato Burrito/Baby Bar. What more could you ask for?? Well Michele exceeded our every expectation with an amazing owl-filled apartment, Elvis & Bruce Willis (you heard me..) We arrived at our Uncle Doug's house...he and his wife Kim made an amazing dinner for the band and a large portion of our family. Then we headed over the Oakes Golf Course for our show. When the morning came around we had a chance to look around Chicago a bit. I don't think any of us will soon forget Don's morning GIGANTIC McDonald's diet coke or the terrific tour he gave us of downtown. During the day we split off into groups...I wish I had read Devil in the White City before I left...I know I would have appreciated it more :/.

That night we played at Reggie's Music Joint. Although it was just a short drive to Racine, after almost 6 straight days of shows and while to some, bagels and tea may seem like an obvious (Bart is old, old friends with Kevin, in fact he is an original Foghorns member) gesture, they really are the things that can provide that wonderful sense of home and comfort when you feel so far way from it.

Ok, we had a show...but it was in Bart's hometown...and honestly, on tour (or as much as I can account for it) there really is a different feeling when you're in someone's hometown. While the pressure is certainly really ON in lots of ways...there is this amazing comfort that comes from family. Sounds cliche, I hear you...but coming from the girl who cried when she saw her mom in Colorado...sometimes cliches are completely straight on.

Well George's was amazing. We were performing as part of an Autism benefit, first off. Secondly, the venue and its owner, Dave Popoff, was bar-none the greatest of the tour. He was so welcoming and, I don't mean any disrespect or insinuation in the following, but incredibly interesting. He's just the kind of person you would want to write a book about. So, we had to find another place to play. We fanned out and came up with an open mic night just west of where we were. It turned out to be the most happening place in the city. Some really great bands, Madison Crawl, being one of them played, and the guy who ran the open mic, and I should say this was more of a full band open mic, the guy who ran it (Michael Bay), set us up for three songs after hearing our story. Was really quite amazing.

D-Note was a great venue. I'm really surprised now, to see how much better the performance spaces are elsewhere from Seattle, mainly the midwest and mideast, the closest I've seen in Seattle is Tractor. Anyway D-Note was basically a huge ballroom type venue, with a large stage in the middle of it. With an entire wall for a bar. Aunt Didi, and Uncle Mike and more cousins showed up, Kirk and Brian. The show itself was slow and had a somber mood, we'd just been through a full US tour and picking up our instruments one more time felt a little programmed but, we knew it'd be the last time for the tour. Some songs felt a little more robotic than others. But we ended with Golden Ghosts, which sounded really great, a song from the Olympus album.
